Ancestors

During my stay in France, I had as a "Tutored Project" the creation of a small video game for educational purposes, where there was an evolutionary comparison between the Precambrian and Cretaceous periods.

My task consisted of creating 6 living serers, 5 belonging to the Cretaceous, and one to the Precambrian

The process was the same for the 6 living beings

Step 01

The Cronopio is an example of the process applied to the 6 living beings within the project.

First, a fairly simple polygon modeling was done with very few faces.

Step 02

Then a simple sculpture was made that would give details to the body in general without straying too far from the original.

Step 03

A Subdivision Surface was applied to the original model and a UV Map was made.

Step 04

Due to the excessive amount of polygons that the sculpture had, a bake was made to convert that detail into a NORMAL image and in this way apply it to the model with fewer faces.

Step 05

Through a complex node system, a difference map system was made that allowed each color or pattern to be changed or altered separately.

Step 06

Each living being was made its system of bones, in the particular case of the Cronopio, Inverse Kinematics were made to the legs

Step 07

Ser made a simple animation and was exported to Unity for integration into the video game
